The competition for acting auditions is nothing short of intense. If you are looking to be a fierce contender for your dream role, you will need to master certain essential auditioning techniques. Like the craft of acting, however, there are general principles not hard and fast rules. Every serious actor knows they must exhaustively study acting as a discipline, working hard and long at proven techniques. But, in the end, you must decide what kind of actor you want to be and the methods you will use get there. Which method is the most important? Stellar audition techniques, without a doubt. Regardless of your talent, you will never be able to show the world unless you have mastered these audition tips.

Acting is, like painting, a true art form and the path towards success is paved with creativity and hard work. Auditions are steps on the journey to success and true talent. An audition serves as an opportunity for an actor to practice his art. Before we start, here are a few practical tips.

The auditors, usually directors, producers, casting directors (and sometimes, even the pizza delivery guy) are all there to assess how appropriate you are for the role. It is natural to want to put up your defenses, tense up, close down and just generally see these people as possible enemies.

In fact, their success depends on it. There is no doubt that performing in front of a group of people who seem distracted can be quite difficult and nerve-wracking. The auditors certainly have a great deal on their minds as well. You are responsible for taking the character they have created and turning it into a personality that will grab their attention and not let go.
