Live Performances in Vegas

By James Darien

When it comes to entertainment few cities can match Las Vegas for variety. Theaters in Las Vegas are many and grand, built to guarantee spectacular performances. Folk head to Las Vegas theaters to be transported by art. With so many outstanding venues it is unsurprising that entertainment is a massive industry and that the city invests heavily so as to continue to attract audiences.

Theater for the Performing Arts at Planet Hollywood

In Vegas the Strip is a real attraction in itself and it is host to a countless number of theater places. One of the very best is found at the Planet Hollywood casino and hotel. This versatile concert hall can seat anywhere between 2500 and 5000 audience members, relying on the event. Broadway musicals, awards rites, acting troupes and concerts are constantly presented. The theater also demonstrates a bar and patrons are welcome to enjoy a beverage during all performances.

The Pearl

Found within the Palms Casino Resort The Pearl is a space designed for superior acoustics. The theater is one of the more recent concert halls in Las Vegas and consequently it takes full advantage of the latest developments in sound engineering. Seeing a massive concert here is a must.

Le Reve Theater

Visitors to The Wynn are conversant with the resort's paramount opulence. The Le Reve Theater isn't an exception to this rule. Host to one of the most spectacular shows on the Vegas Strip, the Le Reve Theater features a gorgeous combined stage and pool where more than 70 performers enact a jaw-dropping show pretty much every night. This theater in the round boasts an giant domed shape that is different from everything else seen in the city. Each seat is a great seat in a theater where no audience member is placed at greater than 42 feet from the stage.

The Smith Center

Not located on the Strip, but an one of a kind attraction nonetheless, the Smith Center is home to touring Broadway productions, the ballet, the symphony and numerous theater groups. The center-piece is Reynolds Hall. It features 2050 seats and clear sightlines from virtually any seat. An orchestra pit sufficiently big to accommodate 100 musicians makes this the best place to watch any performance that's accompanied by onstage music.

Artemus W. Ham Concert Hall

Concert halls in Las Vegas don't come any better than this. Located on the UNLV campus the better acoustics of this purpose-built facility offer the strongest opportunity for hearing onstage music in the town. Classical music is the most common offering, but like other theaters in Vegas the productions here are varied and entertaining.

The Joint

Las Vegas theaters are nothing if not flexible and this location at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino is sometimes home to today's biggest rock music acts while also catering to the sounds of rock 'n roll history. This is one theater that's built to rock and audience members are always guaranteed a wild time.
